Horsefield tortoise is a nice pet to own, but they aren’t for every caretaker. They have some really specific needs in terms of climate and the type of food they eat.
Can horsefield tortoises eat blueberries? Horsefields generally shouldn’t be fed fruits, but if you wanted to give a TINY itty bit, then that would be ok. I have tried feeding blueberries and have noticed no side effects whatsoever although I feed once every 3 months.
I haven’t fed mine strawberries and raspberries because those two have the wrong ratio of calcium to phosphorous.
In many cases, I’d rather stick to feeding them mainly grasses and continental salads.
