Why should you not Feed courgette/zucchini?

They will help them stay hydrated but not nearly enough. You will still have to give them soakings and water to drink, as well as keep their enclosure at the right humidity.
In other words, if your tortoise is getting all the water it needs from courgette/zucchini, it’s getting too much courgette or zucchini!
If you feed your tortoise Courgette or Zucchini, how often should you do it?
If your tortoise likes courgette, you can give them a few chunks once or twice a week, or even less often. When your tortoise is grown, they may only eat about three times a week. You don’t want to push it too hard in their food.
What you feed them will also depend on how big the tortoise is. To feed a tortoise in your garden, for example, you can feed it a whole zucchini before moving on to the next vegetable. This is true, though.
If it’s a smaller tortoise, you can feed it just a quarter of a piece of the vegetable (or even less).
